Materials:
– Camtex Khlopok Travka 100 g/220 m or any alternative type fluffy yarn or mohair
– 1,5 mm and 5mm crochet hooks
– a sewing needle, a pair of scissors, a headband
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
inc – increase
dec - decrease, two single crochets together
Ear (black color make 2)
1. Crochet 6 sc in a Magic Ring
2. 6 sc
3. 6 inc = 12 sc
4. (1 inc, 1 sc) х 6 = 18 sc
5. (1 inc, 2 sc) х 6 = 24 sc
6. 24 sc
7. (1 inc, 3 sc) х 6 = 30 sc
8 – 10. 30 sc
11. (1 inc, 4 sc) х 6 =36 sc
12 – 16. 36 sc
Fold in half, work 17 sc hooking through the loops on both sides. Bind off for Ear 1.
After you’ve made Ear 2 continue as follows:
Ch 20
Attach the last ch to Ear 1, turn, work 20 sc along the chain.
Bind off. Cut the excess yarn tail off.
Make a strip: (black colour make 2)
Ch 61.
1. Starting from the 2nd ch from hook, crochet 60 sc, ch 1, turn work
2 – 4. 60 sc, ch 1, turn work
Bind off. Leave a small piece of thread for further sewing.
The strip I made is 2cm wide.
You should measure your headband and make the strip as wide as necessary.
Inner part of the ear (grey colour, make 2)
Ch 15
1. Starting from the 2nd ch from hook, crochet 14 sc, ch 1, turn work
2. 14 sc, ch 1, turn work
3. 1 dec, 4 sc, 1 dec, 4 sc, 1 dec = 11, ch 1, turn work
4. 1 dec, 7 sc, 1 dec = 9, ch 1, turn work
5. 1 dec, 2 sc, 1 dec, 1sc, 1 dec = 6, ch 1, turn work
6. 6 sc, ch 1, turn work
7. 2 sc, 1 dec, 2 sc = 5, ch 1, turn work
8. 5 sc, ch 1, turn work
9. 1 sc, 1 dec, 2 sc = 4, ch 1, turn work
10. 1 sc, 1 dec, 1 sc = 3, ch 1, turn work
11. 1 dec = 2
Bind off. Leave a small piece of thread for further sewing.
Place the cat ears over the upper part of the headband, wrap the strip around the headband as shown and join the ends with some dressmaking pins. Sew the ends together.
You may brush the ears to make them fluffier.
