I would like to demonstrate a perfect accessory for any crocheter/ knitter. I’ve made it from a broken crochet hook, a piece of cardboard and some red colour yarn.
Finished size 4 cm х 4.5 cm
Materials:
- small amount of red colour yarn, make sure it’s thick ( I used 200m/100g)
- small amount of yellow colour yarn for the crown (I used 425m/100g cotton yarn)
- crochet hook ( I used 1.25 diam crochet hook)
- broken crochet hook around 4cm long
- piece of sturdy cardboard (4cm x 4cm)
- sheet of paper
-   piece of red colour felt (6cm x 10cm)
- transparent glue (this is vital, it should not leave any traces)
- pencil, a pair of scissors, a sewing needle, sewing cotton thread
- brooch fastener

Abbreviations
Ch  - chain
Sc  - single crochet
Sl st – slip stich

Draw a template in a shape of a heart. To do so fold a sheet of paper in two and draw half of the heart as shown. Cut it out. You will get a neat and symmetrical template. My pattern is 4cm x 4cm.

Now place this template onto a piece of cardboard, outline it and cut out one more heart out of cardboard.
Cut out a larger size heart out of a piece of felt, make sure you have around +0.8cm extra space for the edges.

Cut out small triangles around the edges as shown, you will need it to ensure smoother gluing without cringes.

Glue the felt heart to the cardboard heart, fold the edges and press them to the cardboard with your fingertips. Let it dry.

Start winding red colour yarn around the heart. Apply a tiny amount of glue in places on both sides, make sure id does not show through or else it might ruin your work. Start by making some horizontal wraps, make sure they go next to each other and do not overlap.
