This fir tree consists of separate parts. It's easy to assemble and dissemble like a pyramid toy. It's very easy to make, all you need is to remember two rows which will repeat themselves.
Materials:
- Yarn of any thickness and composition, at your discretion. 1 or 2 shades of green, and a small amount of brown
- A crochet hook
- A wooden stick for the trunk. I used a sushi chopstick
- A piece of wood for a stand
- A sewing needle.
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dec – decrease (single crochet two stitches together)
(...) x N times – repeat instructions in brackets N times
Crochet the tiers with green yarn. You can use 1 green or pick 2 shades of green and alternate. I crocheted with dark green and light green
1 Tier. Colour 1.
8 ch, starting from 2nd ch from hook:
1) into the back loops only: 1 sl st, 3 sc, 3 hdc, 8 ch, turn (7+ 8 ch)
2) starting from 3rd ch from hook: 6 hdc, continue into the back loops only: 3 hdc, 3 sc, 1 sl st, ch, turn (13)
Repeat 1st and 2nd rows 11 more times.
Cut off yarn, leave a tail for further operation.
2 Tier. Colour 2.
7 ch, starting from 2nd ch from hook:
1) into the back loops only: 1 sl st, 3 sc, 2 hdc, 8 ch, turn (6+ 8 ch)
2) starting from 3rd ch from hook: 6 hdc, continue into the back loops only: 2 hdc, 3 sc, 1 sl st, ch, turn (12)
Repeat 1st and 2nd rows 10 more times.
Cut off yarn, leave a tail for further operation.

4 Tier. Colour 2.
6 ch, starting from 2nd ch from hook:
1) into the back loops only: 1 sl st, 2 sc, 2 hdc, 6 ch, turn (5+ 6 ch)

Repeat 1st and 2nd rows 8 more times.
Cut off yarn, leave a tail for further operation.
Join in every tier into a circle and sew the beginning and end together. Thread the opening and pull together until the opening equals to the diameter of the trunk.
5 Tier. Colour 1.
5 ch, starting from 2nd ch from hook:
1) into the back loops only: 1 sl st, 2 sc, 1 hdc, 6 ch, turn (4+ 6 ch)
2) starting from 3rd ch from hook: 4 hdc, continue into the back loops only: 1 hdc, 2 sc, 1 sl st, ch, turn (8)
Repeat 1st and 2nd rows 6 more times.
Fasten the thread, cut it off, leaving a long tip of at least 1 meter for further work. Sew the edge. Do not cut the thread!
Next, crochet the top.
1) crochet 8 sc along the inner circle
2-3) 8 sc
4) (dec, 2 sc)× 2 times (6)
5-7) 6 sc
Pull off the loops.

Cut off yarn, leave a tail for further operation.
Fold the part, sew the sides to make a tube.
Crochet and sew 4 of these tubes.

16 ch
1) starting from 2nd ch from hook: 15 sc, ch, turn (15)
2-8) 15 sc, ch, turn (15)
Cut off yarn, leave a tail for further operation.
Fold the part, sew the sides to make a tube.
I used a 30mm thick wood slice for a stand. You may take a lid from a coffee jar instead. Make a hollow that equals to the diameter if the tree trunk. Use a pair of sharp scissors or a drill.
String the tiers onto the trunk (it's the same principle as for the pyramid toy). Decorate as desired.
