SHARKY is a classic yoked sweater with stranded colorwork featuring maritime motifs inspired by the ocean and sea. I chose this wonderful semi-solid blue as main color which, in my eyes, represents the underwater world perfectly. The lighter colorway against the darker background creates a dappled light effect like the sun that shines upon the water. Little details on the cuffs pick up the colors of the pattern again and keep your interest when knitting. The pullover is a seamless top-down construction featuring short rows to shape the neck. It is worn cropped but can be lengthened to suit your own taste.
Since only two colors are used, this design is also suitable for ambitious colorwork beginners.
CONSTRUCTION:
This garment is worked top-down, in the round. Short row shaping is incorporated into the upper yoke to optimize fit. Increases for the yoke are made before, between, and after the colorwork sections. When the yoke is completed, you will separate the sleeves, placing them on hold while the body is finished all the way down without shaping. The sleeve stitches are then returned to the needles, picking up some additional stitches for the underarm, and worked down in rounds.
LEVEL:
