Exciting news: the Loch Ness Monster exists! As amigurumi of course.
This pattern (US terminology) will guide you to crochet an adorable Loch Ness Monster as shown in pictures, made using 8 ply / DK soft acrylic yarn and crochet hook E (3.5 mm).
Finished size will be approx. 10.6” (27 cm) long, and 4.8” (12 cm) tall. This pattern is also suitable for wool or cotton yarn. Stylecraft Special DK was used to create the Loch Ness monsters in the pictures.
If you wish to make a larger or smaller version of this amigurumi, you can just use thicker or thinner yarn with a matching size crochet hook. If so, you will need different amounts of yarn and different size safety eyes than stated in the materials list.
The monster’s head, neck, body and tail are crocheted as separate parts, and will be joined together while crocheting. All parts in this pattern are worked up in continuous rounds.
Skill level: intermediate
Gauge: not important for this pattern, just crochet tight enough so the stuffing will not show through the stitches.
Enjoy crocheting!
