Pattern Meerkat Tea Cosy

The meerkat tea cosy depicts a mod of meerkats gathered on the top of their burrow. The meerkats are busy going about their business, digging, watching and keeping a look out. The little meerkats are adorable and there at ten in all. They all have shiny bead eyes and dark brown ears to match the stripes on their backs.

The main tea cosy, or their burrow is a combination of grassy ridges, grey rocks and chevron patterned earth.

The meerkat tea cosy was inspired by a visit to see some meerkats, and they are just such super little characters that I wanted to make a tea cosy as charming as they were.

The Meerkat manor tea cosy fits a medium sized teapot that covers a Teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints.

This product is the knitting pattern only to make your own Meerkat tea cosy.

Skills Required / What You'll Receive

You need to knit an i-cord. Instructions are given.

You also need to knit bobbles.

This tea cosy fits a medium sized teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints.

Materials List

5.5 mm, UK size 5 or US size 9 knitting needles,
3.25 mm, UK size 10 or US size 3 knitting needles,
3.25 mm, UK size 10 or US size 3 double pointed needles (optional),
23g mustard double knitting wool,
44g camel double knitting wool,
15g grass green double knitting wool,
11g walnut double knitting wool,
6g grey double knitting wool,
20 - 6mm black beads,
3 cotton buds,
Stuffing.
