Another family member on the little farm!
A small flock of sheep has now made itself comfortable here.
With this crochet pattern you can crochet your own little sheep.
The ideal gift for birth, baptism or simply for a loved one.
The instructions contain detailed step-by-step explanations with many pictures.
Material:
For the sheep I used two different types of yarn. 100% cotton (Catania by Schachenmayr | 125m/50g) for arms, legs, face, ears, and a mixed yarn with some wool (e.g., merino or alpaca). This makes the sheepskin look a bit hairier. You can find the wool I used below.
• Yarn/wool:
Color A (arms, legs, face, eras) Schachenmayr Catania: Bast (color number 257): approx. 30g
Color B (Sheepskin: body, head): e.g., white, grey, or light brown: approx. 20g
• crochet hook 2,5 if you use the specified cotton yarn. If you’re using a different yarn, use the crochet hook as suggested on your yarn label.
• black yarn for the eyes and nose
• safety eyes 8mm for the black sheep
• Scissors
• A thicker needle for embroidering the eyes and sewing the cow together
• Filling
• Pins
• sc = single crochet
• ch = chain stitch
• inc = increasing (2 single crochets in one stitch)
• dec = decrease (crochet 2 stitches together)
• sl st = slip stitch (finish the crochet with a slip stitch)
• rev sc = reverse single crochet (The edge of the head is crocheted with this stitch. You can find step-by-step introduction below)
• Magic Ring = there are a lot of instructions on the internet.
Alternatively, you can also chain two stitches. Now work the first round into the first chain stitch you crocheted.
With the specified wool and hook size, the sheep will be approx. 20cm tall.
Of course, you can also use any yarn and crochet hook. Then the sheep become correspondingly larger or smaller.
• Yarn/wool:
