This PDF pattern describes in US terminology how to crochet a laughing Buddha as shown on pictures, including the cloth.

Finished size will be approx. 9” (23 cm) tall, in sitting position, crocheted using sport weight cotton yarn, with hook size C (2.5 mm). If you wish to make a taller or smaller version of this Buddha, you can just use thicker or thinner yarn / crochet hook. This pattern is also suitable for wool or acrylic yarn.

The entire Buddha will be worked in continuous rounds. His cloth will be worked in rows.

Gauge: is not important for this pattern, just crochet tight enough so your stuffing will not show through the stitches.

Stellar Buddha

This is one of my all time favorite patterns. I made the Buddha for my mother and everyone raves about it. Turned out exactly like the photo with clear and excellent instructions.

Hallo, ich komme mit der Beschreibung der Hände und Arme überhaupt nicht zurecht. Die einzelnen Finger habe ich, aber dann sind die Schritte 6-9 total unverständlich für mich. Wie soll das gehen, dass ich in die einzelnen Finger in einer Reihe steche und am Ende in Runde 7+8 in Runden häkele? Tut mir leid, alles andere verstehe ich gut aber die Schritte versteh ich nicht. Kann mir da jemand helfen?

  Hallo, vielen Dank für Deinen Kauf und Deine Nachricht.
  Es tut mir Leid, dass Du mit den Fingern nicht zurecht kommst. Ich werde versuchen Dir weiter zu helfen.
  Man häkelt um die Finger herum, das sind eine Art Röhren mit 5 Maschen. Man macht sie also nicht flach und häkelt dann in Reihen, sondern man häkelt um die Finger herum. Zuerst verbindet man die 4 Finger an der Oberseite der Hand, dann verbindet man die 4 Finger entlang der Innenseite der Hand.
  Sobald die 4 Finger zusammengefügt sind, häkelt man rundum alle 4 Finger (20 Maschen) und so erstellt man die Hand.
  Da die Finger ziemlich klein sind, ist es etwas knifflig, aber dieser Anleitung ist ja auch für fortgeschrittene Häkelerinnen geschrieben. Ich hoffe, es ist klar und Du kannst mit deinem Buddha weitermachen.

  Hi Jupelale, vielen Dank für den Kauf !
  Als Hautfarbe für den Buddha habe ich Phildar Partner 3,5 Poudre (nummer 30) verwendet, und für die Kleidung Stylecraft Special Double Knit,1029 Copper.
  Hoffentlich kannst du das gleiche Garn finden, oder ähnliches.

Hallo,
ich habe eine Frage zur Anleitung: Ich kann in der Beschreibung keinen Hinweis finden, wie der Bauchnabel des Buddha gehäkelt wird. Auf den Bildern ist er ganz deutlich zu sehen, aber in der Beschreibung finde ich dazu nichts. Wäre schön, wenn Majan Schepers (oder jemand in der Gruppe, der/die den Buddha schon gehäkelt hat) mir Hilfestellung geben könnte.

  Brustwarzen und Bauchnabel werden aus französischen Knoten erstellt, mit hellbraunen Stickgarn. Es steht auf der letzte Seite beschrieben, als letzte Schritt. :-)
