The FREYA sweater features an all-over faux cable pattern, created only with the help of increases and decreases. This circular yoke, top-down sweater starts with 1x1 ribbing for the crew neck. Then, you will work increases to establish columns of cable motifs, one after the other, spread across the yoke regularly. After a while, you will mark 4 ‘raglan’ positions and integrate increases into each cable motif until you have created new cable columns. To obtain more length for a higher back neck, one additional pattern repeat is worked flat across the back stitches only. You will separate the sleeves from the body, place the sleeve stitches on hold and cast on underarm stitches. These will be integrated into the cable motif when working the body straight in the round until you finish it with a 1x1 rib hem. The sleeves are worked in the round and finished with a cuff in 1x1 rib as well. All ribbing can be bound off with the tubular method for a polished look. There are also instructions for a short-sleeved summery tee version included in the pattern.

SIZES
1 (2 / 3 / 4) (5/ 6 / 7 / 8)
Finished bust measurements:
87.5 (102 / 109 / 123.5) (138 / 152.5 / 167.5 / 182) cm (34.5 (40.25 / 43 / 48.5) (54.25 / 60 / 66 / 71.75) inches)
EASE
Sizing is a guide only and you should pick the size whose finished measurements are closest to the wearer’s body measurements plus 10–20 cm (4–8 inches) of positive ease for a relaxed fit. If you prefer a more fitted style (e.g. if you want to make a short-sleeved summer tee), choose a size with 5–10 cm (2–4 inches) of positive ease, and for an oversized fit, choose a size with at least 25 cm (10 inches) of positive ease.
Sample 1, size 2, is shown on 86 cm (33.75 inches) bust circumference (16 cm (6.25 inches) of positive ease).
The person in the photo is 156 cm (5 feet 1 inch) tall and the side length of the sweater is slightly cropped (32 cm (12.5 inches)).
NEEDLES
Circular needles to obtain gauge; recommended needle sizes: 4 mm (US 6) and 3.5 mm (US 4) with a length of at least 80 cm (32 inches); optional: double-pointed needles in both sizes (if you don’t want to work the sleeves with the magic loop method).
Possibly, you might need to go up a needle size for the sleeves as gauge often changes when working on small circumference in the round.
YARN
DK yarn to obtain gauge
Rhool Yarn Rhool trino (DK; 100% wool; 266 m (289 yds) per 100 g), undyed
Bohei Yarn, Angenehm DK (DK, 50% Falkland Merino, 50% BFL; 250 m (274 yds) per 100g), one-of-a-kind colorway
METRES NEEDED
For a sweater with regular side length of approx. 40 cm (incl. hem) and average sleeve length of 48 cm (incl. cuff), you need around 1,150 (1,300 / 1,380 / 1,600) (1,770 / 1,960 / 2,210 / 2,400) m (1230 (1,420 / 1,500 / 1,740) (1,930 / 2,140 / 2,410 /
2,620) yds) of DK weight yarn. (The sample sweater is a size 2 and used up around 1,200 m (1,310 yds) as it has a cropped side length of 32 cm (12.5 inches)). For a short-sleeved tee, you need less than 80% of this amount of yarn. Please be aware that this version has not been tested, so this amount is only an estimate. (The pink sample tee is a size 2 and used up around 900 m (980 yds) as it has a cropped side length of only 27 cm (10.5 inches) and a sleeve length of 7 cm (2.75 inches)). Yardage may vary slightly depending on your knitting style and the yarn you are using! Always have a bit more in stock to be on the safe side.
NOTIONS
Stitch markers (at least 12, but some testers recommended using 36 (42 / 44 / 50) (56 / 62 / 68 / 70) Ms for the yoke
// stitch holders or waste yarn // tapestry needle
