The LIHAN sweater women is the adults’ version of the LIHAN sweater kids. It has a circular yoke top-down construction: you can decide whether you would like a plain stockinette stitch sweater with almost invisible increases or if you prefer summery eyelets or textured bobble increases.
After the yoke is complete, you put the sleeve stitches on hold, work some short rows for a higher back neck and finish the body in the round, cropped or regular length as desired. Then you return to your sleeve stitches and work them in the round. You can also choose between straight and tapered long sleeves. That’s it! A very simple, top-down, beginner-friendly knit with lots of options that you can mix and match as you wish!

Sizing is a guide only and you should pick the size whose finished measurements are closest to the wearer’s body measurements plus 10–20 cm (4–8 inches) of positive ease for a relaxed fit. If you prefer a more fitted style, choose a size with 0–10 cm (0–4 inches) of positive ease, and for an oversized fit, choose a size with at least 25 cm (10 inches) of positive ease.
Sample 1, size 2 (92 cm (36.25 inches)), is shown on 86 cm (33.75 inches) bust circumference (6 cm (2.5 inches) of positive ease).
The person in the photo is 156 cm (5 feet 1 inch) tall and the side length of the sweater is slightly cropped (28 cm (11 inches)).
NEEDLES
Circular needles to obtain gauge; recommended needle sizes: 4 mm (US 6) and 3 mm (US 3) with a length of at least 80 cm (32 inches); optional: double-pointed needles in both sizes (if you don’t want to work the sleeves with the magic loop method)
YARN

Sample 2: BC Garn Bio Balance (fingering; 55% merino wool, 45% cotton; 225 m (246 yds) per 50g), colorway discontinued, held together with fingering weight merino yarn, hand-dyed
Sample 3: Fonty BB Mérino, held double (Fingering; 100% merino wool; 200 m (219 yds) per 50g), colorways 903 butterwhite and 904 yellow beige
METRES NEEDED
1030 / 1120 / 1210 / 1320 (1500 / 1590 / 1710 / 1850) (2030 / 2210 / 2500 / 2650) m (1120 / 1220 / 1320 / 1440 (1640 / 1730 / 1860 / 2020) (2210 / 2410 / 2730 / 2890) yds of DK weight yarn. If you work with fingering weight yarn held double, you need double the amount (metres) of yarn.
Amounts stated are calculated generously (with enough in hand for swatches and adjustments) for a cropped length of 28 / 28 / 28 / 28 (32 / 32 / 32 / 32) (35 / 35 / 35 / 35) cm (11 / 11 / 11 / 11 (12.5 / 12.5 / 12.5 / 12.5) (13.75 / 13.75 / 13.75 / 13.75) inches), tapered sleeves and simple increases for the yoke (YO / M1). For bobbles, you need a bit more (approx. 5–10%) and for a regular length, you need a bit more (approx. 10%).
Yardage may vary slightly depending on your knitting style and the yarn you are using! Always have a bit more in stock to be on the safe side.
