This pattern contains 7 pages of crochet instructions and 17 pages of detailed step-by-step instructions.
Used techniques (US crochet terms): magic ring, chain, slip stitch, single crochet, increases and (invisible) decreases, crocheting in front loops and back loops – explained.

Including the ring the rattle ring gets to be 12 cm tall (with 2.0 mm hook and Sport yarn like Catania Originals).
You need it smaller or bigger? No problem! Simply use lighter or heavier yarn.
You need different sizes for the eyes and nose then!
I used Sport weight yarn (e.g. Catania Originals) with the following amounts:
beige: 26 g (head & ring-wrap)
black: 5 g (eyes , ears, snout)
white: 1 g (eyes)
green: 1 g (collar)
You also need:
1 pair of 10 mm safety-eyes;
1 12 mm safety-nose;
1 wooden ring (e.g. with 7 cm outer diameter);
optional: a small rattle ball;
