Especially in spring and around Easter chickens are in full swing. So these cute tealight holders are a perfect fit for your decoration concept.:)

All steps are explained in detail in words and pictures, so this pattern is suitable for (practiced) beginners as well.
This pattern contains 15 pages of crochet instructions and 17 pages of detailed step-by-step instructions.
Used techniques (US crochet terms): magic ring, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increases and (invisible) decreases, crocheting in front loops and back loops – explained, changeing yarn-color - explained, surface crochet – explained.
The figures are crocheted in continuous rounds/spirals as well as back and forth in rows.
FORMAT
-pattern in PDF format (with watermarks)
With 2.0 mm hook and sport weight yarn the tealight holders get to be 6.5 x 8 cm, 5 x 7 cm & 4 x 6 cm tall (each without beak & comb).
You need it smaller or bigger? No problem! Simply use lighter or heavier yarn.
Standard tealights with a diameter of 3.6 cm
will NOT FIT then, though.****
Sport weight yarn in the following amounts:
big/medium/small tealight holder
white: 24 g/17 g/14 g
green/orange/yellow: 7 g/6 g/4 g
red: 2 g/1 g/1 g
optional: a bit of black for the eyes
Additionally you need:
electronic tealights with a diameter of 3.6 cm;
6 mm safety eyes or 6 mm flat back pearls to glue on;
optional: tools to shorten or melt down the safety eyes‘ pins in case they turn out to be too long for the small chicken (e.g. pliers, hot glue gun);
