KOBRI No 60
I have seen the first gnome looking happily into the spring sun! Because I was so happy that nature is awakening again, I dedicated a jumper to the little fellow with the funny knobbly nose.
Suitable for spring with short sleeves and a loose neckline. The gnome's pointed cap is decorated with a small button that keeps the neckline in shape.
The jumper is knitted in rounds in one piece from top to bottom.
The instructions consist of charts AND are written out in stitches. So you can decide for yourself what is more comfortable for you.
I do not recommend this jumper for beginners. You should be slightly advanced and have already knitted at least one model with a lace pattern and an raglan from the top.
The nose is knitted as well. The face is embroidered on, example photos are included in the instructions, an embroidery course is not! You should be able to do stitch and stem stitch.
If you keep to the stitch gauge of 25 sts and 36 rows = 10 cm, you can knit the following sizes. Each is described separately.
Every child grows individually, so I can only give guidelines for the age.
Size 50-56cm: 0-3 months: waist circumference up to 44cm
Size 62-68cm: 3-6 months: waist circumference up to 47cm
Size 74-80cm: 6-12 months: waist circumference up to 50cm
Size 86-92cm: 1-2 years: waist circumference up to 53cm
Size 98-104cm: 2-4 years: waist circumference up to 57cm
Size 110-116cm: 4-6 years: waist circumference up to 60cm
I used "Linarte" from Lana Grossa and knitted with double pointed needles 3,5mm and a 3.5mm circular needle, 40cm long.
Depending on the size you need 1-2 balls of yellow (colour 86), 2-4 balls of orange (colour 95),
a button with a diameter of 1,5cm and some remaining threads to embroider the face.
Open the door to my children's room, there are many pretty models to discover!
