Sizes:
2 Years– (3/4)-5/6 Years
86/92– (96/104)-110/116
Chest width is approx.:
32– (35)-38 cm
Total Length is approx.:
36- (40)-44 cm
(If you want it longer just keep on working before the rib)
Sleeve length from the separation:
20– (24)-27 cm

Material
Double pointed and Circular Knitting needles 3 and 3.5 mm
Stitch marker or small threads in different colours, stitch holder, Darning Needle
250– (250)-300 gr DK yarn for the jumper
Some left over yarn in same weight for the graph, I have used approx. 6 gr for the octopus and just a few grams for the black and white

Gauge:
Worked with 3.5 mm needles in stockinette stitch: 22 st x 30 rows

Abbreviations:
K= Knit      P: Purl      st: Stitch     YO: Yarn over

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How To: (important to read)
Cast on: I would recommend using the German Twisted cast on or use a bigger needle so it’s not too tight.

Yarn over: is knitted through back loop to avoid holes.

Cast Off: I would recommend Casting off with bigger needles as well

The whole jumper is knitted in stockinette stitch except the rib and the collar which is 1 knit 1 purl.
The start of the round will be in the middle of the back.
Usually the numbers between – shows what’s worked for each size.
If there is only 1 number, it’s the same for all sizes.

Increasing Round (every second Round)
**Work until 1 st before marker, 1 yarn over knit 2 (marker is in the middle of them 2) 1 yarn over** repeat that until round end
We have 8 increases in every second round.

The jumper can also be worked in stripes in 3 Colos which looks very cute.
Striped Jumper in 3 Colours:
Work with the first colour until the jumper is separated into sleeves and body, change to the second colour and work 10 cm and change then to the last colour until the end. Work the sleeves the same.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Start the Pullover:

Collar:
Cast on 80– (86)-90 st with 3 mm Needle and close to Round.
Work in rib pattern for 2 cm
(1 knit 1 purl)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yoke:
Change to 3.5 mm Needles and work all in knit

1. Round:
Add a marker in a different colour at the beginning of the Round (middle Back)

Then 4 Markers in a different colour for the increases:
1. Marker after:                        16– (17)-18 st (the back)
2. Marker after the next:          8– (8)-8 st (first sleeve)
3. Marker after the next:          32– (35)-37 st the Front)
4. Marker after the next:          8– (8)-8 st (second sleeve)
Knit leftover stitches:                16– (18)-19 st (second part of the back)

2. Round (first increasing):
**Work until 1 st before marker, 1 yarn over knit 2 (marker is in the middle of them 2 stitches) 1 yarn over** repeat this until the round end. (8 st increased)

3. Round:
all knit and the YO knit through back.

Repeat the 2. And 3. Round:
Another:
16– (17)-19
So, in Total:
17– (18)-20 increases worked.
We have now:
216– (230)-250 stitches

When the increases are reached keep on working all knit without any increases until the piece measures 15– (17)-18 cm from the beginning.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Body:
The piece is now divided in sleeves and body.

Knit  33- (35)-38 st until first marker. (back)
Place 42– (44)-48 st on stitch holder (sleeve)
Cast on 8– (8)-8 st (under arm)
And knit the next 66– (71)-77 st (front)
Place the next 42– (44)-48 st on stitch holder (2. Sleeve)
Cast on 8– (8)-8 stitches (under arm)
Work rest 33–36 (36)-39 st (back)
We have now 148– (158)-170 st for the Body

Continue knitting in the Round until body measures 19– (21)-23 cm from the separation.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rib:
Change to 3 mm needle and work in rib stitch (1knit 1 purl)
Work in this rib 2 cm total length approx. = 36– (40)-44 cm
Cast off

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sleeve:
Place the 42– (44)-48 stitches back on the 3.5 mm needle and knit up 1 stitch from each of the under-arm stitches from before 8– (8)-8 =  50- (52)-56 st
Add a marker in between these new stitches, so the row begins between the 8– (8)-8 st
Work stocking stitch until 4 cm after the division
Decrease now every 3– (4)-4 cm a total of 5– (5)-6 times.
(knit 1 stitch after marker, knit 2 together knit until 3 before marker, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, kni1 1 and pass the slipped stitch over)
remaining stitches = 40– (42)-44
Knit without any decreases until the sleeve reaches 18– (22)-25 cm from the separation.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Start with the Rib again for 2 cm:
Change to 3 mm needle and work rib stitch (1knit 1 purl)
Sleeve measures now 20– (24)-27 cm from the separation:
cast off

Work the second sleeve the same.
Sew together the little hole in the arm pit and sew in all the threads and enjoy the Pullover.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Swiss Darning:
Swiss Darning: (stitch on to the piece, start always in the middle of the little v and work up 1 leg underneath the loop and down the other leg)
I have attached a few photos to explain a bit better how to work Swiss Darning.

To work the Graph: I find it the easiest to use a threat to outline where the graph goes with the correct stitches and rows needed like a picture frame to make sure to have enough space and have it at the right spot on the jumper. Then I start with the first row in the middle to make sure it lines up with the jumper middle.
