winter beanie hat with pom pom sewing pattern

This simple and easy beginner sewing pattern and tutorial is for tight, warm lined winter / fall beanie with gathered upper part and pom pom.

Beanie tutorial (also included pom pom tutorial) with color photos, and sewing pattern includes 11 sizes, with a head circumference range:

20 7/8 inches (53 cm) size;
21 1/4 inches (54 cm) size;
21 5/8 inches (55 cm) size;
22 inches (56 cm) size;
22 1/2 inches (57 cm) size;
22 7/8 inches (58 cm) size;
23 1/4 inches (59 cm) size;
23 5/8 inches (60 cm) size;
24 inches (61 cm) size;
24 3/8 inches (62 cm) size;
24 7/8 inches (63 cm) size

How to measure head circumference:

You need to measure your head exactly where your beanie will sit. Place the string or tape measure around your head about 1/4 inches (0,5 cm) above your ear, completely circling your head.

All patterns with seam allowances.

All patterns can be printed on both US Letter size paper and A4 size paper.

US Letter: 8.5 x 11.0 inches (21,6 x 27,9 cm);
A4: 8.3 x 11.7 inches (21,0 x 29,7 cm)

All measurements in patterns and tutorial are in both inches ('') and centimeters (cm).

You need:

1/2 yard (0,50 meter) of 58 – 60 inches (1,5 meter) wide thick jersey fabric for beanie, suitable for both large and small sizes.

3/8 yard (0,35 meter) of 58 – 60 inches (1,5 meter) wide soft thin jersey fabric for lining, suitable for both large and small sizes.

You can also use stretch velvet knit fabric or polar (or wintry) fleece fabric for beanie. You can also use old plus size wool sweater, velvet sweater or fleece sweater as your fabric.
