The colors of Friesenblau (German for Friesian Blue, a specific shade of blue named after the Friesland region in the Netherlands) call to mind a summer’s day at the ocean, the beach, sunshine, shells, waves and village life at the coast.

The shape of the shawl is a long triangle, which makes it very wearable.

The colorful pattern is achieved with the help of slipped stitches, which means you only work with one color at a time.

Gauge: 25 sts and 48 rows = 4" [10 cm] in garter stitch

Yardage:

• ca. 400 yards / 366m in the main color (light color)
• ca. 400 yards / 366 m in color B (blue)
• ca. 200 yards / 183 m in color C (brown)

Additional Materials:
US size 4 / 3.5 mm circular needle, or size required to achieve gauge.
