If you know the following stitches and techniques, then you can get started. Like almost all amigurumi, this gnome is worked in spiral rounds. The instructions have quite a few pictures and a written description, crochet should be quite easy.

chst = chain stitch
sc = single crochet
FPdc = Front Post double crochet
FPtr = Front Post treble
Magic ring
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
1 inc = increase (for this pattern, the technique „invisible increase“ is used; in general, you crochet 2 sc into 1 stitch)
1 dec = decrease (for this pattern, the technique „invisible decrease“ is used, in general you crochet 2 sc together)
