I managed to simplify this cross stitch pattern to 24 colors without losing the variety and the lightness of the impression. The pattern has a size of 233 x 181 stitches. Depending on the fabric type, this corresponds to a size of 11.7 inch x 9.1 inch or 29.6 cm x 23 cm (AIDA 20ct) to 19.4 inch x 15.1 inch or 49.3 cm x 38.3 cm (AIDA 12ct)
Marshmallows are sweet, even sweeter with chocolate! A really cute cross stitch pattern for lovers!
A relatively easy to stitch cross stitch pattern with some color tones though. Don't try to reduce the shades. I have experimented for a long time and I think that this pattern in this form is the best solution between color variety and simplification.

Designer tip: Try not to center the motif exactly on the fabric, but offset it slightly to the left so that the empty left border is about half the size of the free right border. This creates a very nice tension in the image.
