We crochet the hat from the bottom, means we start at the cuff.
Cast on 11 chain (for a wider cuff just crochet some more chains), in the 2nd Stitch from hook and all following crochet each 1 slst, turn
*1CH, in each Stitch of the Row each 1 slst – work into the back loop only. turn*
You get a rib pattern. Repeat from * to * till you have the needed circumference (length).
As soon you reached the length (circumference) that you need, crochet or sew the ends together.
I always recommend to crochet the cuff 2-3 cm smaller then needed as the yarn usually will expand.
Round 1: Now work ahead in rounds. Every Round will start with 1 ch and end with a slst.
1sc and 1 dc in 1st st. skip 1 st
*1 sc and 1 dc in next st, skip 1 st*
Repeat from * to * till end of round.
Round 2
1sc and 1 dc in 1st st. skip 1 st , *1 sc and 1 dc in next st, skip 1 st*
Repeat from * to * till end of round.
Repeat Row 2 till you reach lenght as wished.

Last Rounds
1ch, *1sc and 1 dc in 1st st. skip 1 st , (1 sc and 1 dc in next st, skip 1 st) x 2, 2 ch, skip2 st*
Repeat from * to * till end of round.
1 sc around.
Crochet a chain of chains, turn the hat inside out and place the chain between the last round and the round before the last round, pull it together and make a knot.
Turn the Hat back from inside out.
Done! You can also wear the hat as scarf.
