Cotton yarn 50 g/137 yds, Sport Yarn, 5ply, crochet hook C, 2 black beads or a pair of safety eyes, polyester fiber fill stuffing, yarn needle.

inc = increase stitch (two single crochets into one stitch)

INSTRUCTIONS
I don´t join rounds with the help of slip stitch but crochet in a circle.
BOTTOM
Rnd 1: 6 sc into Magic Ring.
Rnd 2: inc 6 times (12 sts).
Rnd 3: *sc in next st, inc* (18 sts).
Rnd 4: *sc in each of next 2 sts, inc* (24 sts).
Cast off and weave in ends.
UPPER PART
Rnd 1: 6 sc into Magic Ring.
Rnd 2: inc 6 times (12 sts).
Rnd 3: *sc in next st, inc* (18 sts).
Rnd 4: *sc in each of next 2 sts, inc* (24 sts).
Rnd 5: *sc in each of next 3 sts, inc* (30 sts).
Rnd 6: *sc in each of next 4 sts, inc* (36 sts).
Rnd 7: *sc in each of next 5 sts, inc* (42 sts).
Rnd 8: *sc in each of next 6 sts, inc* (48 sts).
Rnd 9-13: sc in each of next 48 sts.
Rnd 14: *dec, sc in each of next 6 sts* (42 sts).
Rnd 15-17: sc in each of next 42 sts.

Don´t cast off. Sew bottom to the upper part of the ostopus using hook.
Before the hole is closed stuff the octopus. Don´t cast off!
TENTACLE (8x)
*Ch 31, sc in 2nd st from the hook, hdc in each of next 5 sts, dc in each of next 10 sts, tc in each of next 10 sts, dc in each of next 4 sts, skip next st, sl st in eah of next 2 sts*, repeat from* 8 times.
Around every tentacle work 1 Rnd in sc´s.
HAT
Rnd 1: Magic Ring, 12 dc into the ring (12 sts).
Rnd 2: 2 dc in each of next 12 sts (24 sts).
Rnd 3: *dc in next st, inc* (36 sts).
Rnd 4: *dc in each of next 2 sts, inc* (48 sts).
Rnd 5: dc in each of next 48 sts.
Rnd 6-7: dc in each of next 12 sts, turn.
Cast off.
FINISHING
Position eyes (25-26 Rnd) and sew them to the head of your octopus.
Sew hat on the head of octopus.
