MATERIALS AND TOOLS
Yarn:
• Main color yarn – I used approximately 120 g of “Mohair Delicate” by Nako (40% mohair, 60% acrylic, 500m/100g) ;
• Black color yarn for the nose – I used approximately 3-5 m;
• White color yarn for the whites of the eyes – I used approximately 2-3 m;
Tip: All three colors should crochet to the same gauge! I recommend that you use yarn that has approximately 500m in 100 g. You can use wool, mohair or acrylic yarn. The thicker yarn you use, the bigger toy you will get.
You can buy yarn here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/LittleOwlsHutRUSSIAN
• Any yarn for the scarf and matching knitting needles (optional).
• Matching crochet hook (I used 1.75 mm – approximately US 6, UK 3 1/2);
• Two ready-made eyes (I used 10 mm in diameter).
• Sewing needle and tapestry needle for needle sculpting.
• Strong thread for needle sculpting.
• Stuffing.
• Fishing line for the whiskers and eyebrows.
• A piece of thick wire, a long foam roller, a piece of foam rubber, etc. to insert inside the neck to help the toy not to be floppy and keep the head up (optional) – the quantity and the size depends on the size of your toy.
