For a bold, bright splash of color for the babies' room, crochet this blanket in sixteen not-so-traditional granny squares. Sew the squares together and finish the blanket with a couple of rounds of edging. This "playtime" pattern includes suggestions for different placement of squares so you are free to be creative.

Materials: The blanket shown in the photograph is crocheted in "Perfection DK" from Kraemer Yarns. You will need a total of approximately 1200 yards in your choice of colors. As gauge is not crucial on this project you can use almost any light worsted weight yarn.
Tools: Boye crochet hook, U.S. size I.
