The Train Guard Tea Cosy knitting pattern design was based on a photo of a heritage line train guard and some old Victorian photos.
The stout train guard is wearing a black suit and he is wearing big boots. On his head he is wearing a cap with gilt edging and a green badge.
In his hands he has the train guard tools of the trade, a green flag and a whistle. His cheeks are puffed up as if he's about to blow the whistle.
Around the back of him he has a post sack for of letters and parcels for the Royal Mail. The mail bag has a minimal amount of Fair Isle knitting on it to spell out MAIL.
He's a lovely tea cosy, full of nostalgia of a bygone time when steam trains were mesmerising. He'd be perfect for any steam train enthusiast.
The tea cosy is knitted with double thickness yarn to keep the teapot and the tea really hot.
The Train Guard tea cosy fits a medium sized tea pot that covers a Teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints.
The pattern will be available for digital download as soon as you have completed purchase, so you could start knitting, very soon!
