Get your teatime Diwali celebrations going with the Diwali Tea Cosy knitting pattern.
It has a brightly coloured patterned design that really zings against the black of the main cosy. Diwali being the festival of light I wanted the pattern so show the contrast between light and dark, and this tea cosy is a celebration of light and colour.
On the top of the tea cosy I have designed a traditional candle holder, but of course you can't have a real flame, and instead of a knitted flame I thought it would be lovely to have a battery operated tealight. What is lovely about these battery tea lights is that they are completely safe, but they have a little flicker like a real flame would which is great for creating ambiance.
The tea cosy is knitted on 4.00mm knitting needles throughout, but this wouldn't be thick enough to keep the teapot hot during the dark winter months, so the tea cosy has a knitted lining making it super thick.
The patterns on the tea cosy are knitted in as you go and are worked from charts in the pattern.
The Diwali tea cosy fits a medium sized tea pot that covers a Teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints.
The pattern will be available for digital download as soon as you have completed purchase, so you could start knitting it very soon!
This product is the knitting pattern only to make your own Diwali tea cosy.
You need to be able to knit in colour from a chart - intarsia and Fairisle.
