Queeniecorn - Crochet Pattern

Shortly after a storm, just as the sun broke through the clouds, a rainbow appeared. A beautiful, spectacularly coloured bridge spanning the realm of the Flurbles and ours.

Queenie, quite put out that Kitsicle and Bunbun had left on an adventure without inviting her fabulous self, raced toward the rainbow as fast as her short little legs would carry her. And, wheeeeeee! Off she went!

Though a diva from beginning to end, Queenie isn’t the most graceful of creatures and landed with a splat in a pot of leprechaun gold. Said leprechaun was not amused and quite sure our fabulous Queenie meant to steal his treasure. Muttering, “Totally meant to do that!” after her fall, she fluffed her mane, shook out her tail and batting her luscious lashes set out to win the leprechaun over.

It didn’t take long for the leprechaun to become quite smitten, and he invited Miss Queenie to a party.

There is only one thing Queenie loves more than a party and that’s being the center of attention. And was she ever!!

Never before had the leprechauns seen a creature quite like her. With her rainbow aura and sparkling personality, Miss Queenie was the celebrity she knew she was always meant to be. The party went on into the wee hours with copious amounts of green beer imbibed.

However, the next morning when Queenie awoke, she found herself alone with not a trace of her new friends and only a little black top hat and a shamrock to show for the fun had. Indignant that she had been left behind yet again, Queenie went in search of another rainbow, determined to catch up with the leprechauns and serve up a piece of her mind!

Her search continues to this day for leprechauns are only ever to be found en masse once a year on March 17th – St Paddy’s Day.

4-ply (fingering weight) yarn – 50g main body colour, scrap of contrast colour for hooves, main and tail, white for horn.
2.25mm hook
30mm eye – safety or glass cabochon
4 thick 30mm buttons to stabilize legs
Glue if using a glass cabochon for the eye
1 set false eyelashes (not recommended if making for a small child)
1 pipe cleaner for the tail
Fibrefill
