INSTRUCTIONS
HAT
Rnd 1: chain 4 stitches. 11 dc in the second chain, sl st to the top of ch. (12 stitches).
Rnd 2: ch3, dc in the same st as ch, 2 dc in each of next 11 st, sl st to top of ch 3 (24 stitches).
Rnd 3: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, dc in next st*, repeat from*to* till the end of Rnd, sl st to top of ch 3 (36 stitches).
Rnd 4: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch and each of next 2 sts, *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 2 st*, repeat from*to* till the end of Rnd, sl st to top of ch 3 (48 stitches).
Rnd 5: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch and each of next 3 sts, *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 3 st*, repeat from*to* till the end of Rnd, sl st to top of ch 3 (60 stitches).
Rnd 6: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in each of next 4 sts, *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 4 st*, repeat from*to* till the end of Rnd, sl st to top of ch 3 (72 stitches).

EARFLAPS
Count 8 sts from the seam of the hat to the left and attach yarn into next stitch.
Row 1: ch3 (=1dc), dc in each of next 15 sts, turn.
Row 2: ch3, dc2tog, dc in each of next 10 sts, dc3tog, turn.
Row 3: ch3, dc2tog, dc in each of next 8 sts, dc3tog, turn.
Row 4: ch3, dc2tog, dc in each of next 6 sts, dc3tog, turn.
Row 5: ch3, dc2tog, dc in each of next 4 sts, dc3tog. Cast off.
Skip 34 sts from the last stitch of the first earflap, attach yarn and crochet the second earflap like the first one.

Rnd 4: *2sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts *, repeat from*to* 6 times (24 sts).
Rnd 5: *2sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts *, repeat from*to* 6 times (30 sts).
Rnd 6: *2sc in next st, sc in each of next 4 sts *, repeat from*to* 6 times (36 sts).

Cast off leaving a long tail for sewing onto hat. Using brown thread embroider eyelashes.
BEAK
Row 1: ch2, 3sc in the second ch from hook, turn.
Row 2: ch1, 2sc in next st, 1sc in next st, 2sc in next st, turn.
Row 3: ch1, sc in each of next 5sts, turn.
Row 4: ch1, 2sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 3sts, 2sc in next st, turn.
Row 5: ch1, sc in each of next 7sts.
All around nose crochet in sc´s.
FINISHING
- Sew ears on the top of the hat. Cut some strands of beige yarn, loop through dc´s of the last Rnd, knot and trim.
- Sew eyes and nose onto the hat.
- All around hat crochet one Rnd in crab stitch (reverse single crochet). Weave in all ends.
- Braided tails: cut 4 strands of each color. Pass through last space in earflap, braid, knot and trim ends.
