Pattern Colorways - Cardigan XL

An individually adaptable pattern for a versatile knitted cardigan, designed by Birgit Freyer.

This gorgeous cardigan can be adapted to any shapes or sizes, based on just three individual measurements. The extensive, elaborate pattern describes in detail how the desired adaptation can be obtained by adding or skipping parts - illustrated by detailed sketches. Due to its special construction, this design is especially suitable to be fitted for a plus-size bust.

The cardigan is worked in several different directions, which showcases the colourways of variegated yarns perfectly. All parts are knitted together, so there's almost no sewing at the end! Only the shoulder seams need to be closed.

For the original sample shown in the picture, Filace Moira with its wonderfully individual colour changes has been used. The original yarn can be substituted by any variegated yarn in a similar weight.

The pattern contains charts.

Size Information

Size: For all sizes - fully variable in size.

Materials List

Original Yarn: Moira by Filace (350 m / 383 yd per 100 g); or a variegated yarn of similar weight.
Yardage: depending on size: Women's sizes: 36/38 (S) = 300 g, 40/42 (M) = 350 g, 44/46 (L) = 400 g, per double size 50 g more.
Needle size: 4.0 to 4.5 mm (US size 6 to 7, UK size 7 to 6)

Notions: measuring tape, stitch markers, contrasting thread (or additional cables from interchangeable needle systems) to place stitches on hold, scissors, needle for sewing in threads.
