Knitting pattern washcloth / dishcloth "Summer Love" - easy

Just by looking at this little cloth I get summer feelings! You can use it either as washcloth or dishcloth, depending on the yarn you use. Little children like it if you clean their smeared faces with the ice cream cloth 😉 My youngest daughter loves it, if I put the cold wet cloth on her belly when the temperature is too hot to sleep. And making the dishes is just a little bit more fun with this summerly motif – no matter if you are on holidays or at home.

The cloth is very easy to work with only knits and purls.

• basic knitting skills (cast on, cast off, knit and purl)
• optional (for the handle): basic crochet skills (chain, sling stitch, single stitch)

With Schachenmayr cotton bamboo (156 m / 50 gr), size of the finished cloth is approx. 21 cm x 21 cm.

With Schachenmayr organic cotton (155 m / 50 gr), size of the finished cloth is approx. 22,5 x 22,5 cm.

With Schachenmayr Catania (125 m / 50 gr), size of the finished cloth is approx. 23,5 cm x 23,5 cm.

Materials List

• Schachenmayr Organic Cotton 100 % cotton (155 m / 50 gr), approx. 30 gr in your favourite colour (also suitable for a dishcloth or washcloth as it is very soft)
• Alternative for a washcloth: mix of cotton and bamboo, e.g. Schachenmayr Baby Smiles Cotton Bamboo (156 m / 50 g), approx. 30 gr in your favourite colour
• Alternative for a thicker dishcloth: 100 % cotton, e.g. Schachenmayr Catania (100 % cotton, 125 m/ 50 gr), approx. 40-50 gr in your favourite colour
• 2,5 mm (US 1 or 2) knitting needles
• Crochet hook 3 mm (optional, for the handle)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
