I managed to simplify this cross stitch pattern to 34 colors without losing the variety and the lightness of the impression. The pattern has a size of 158 x 189 stitches. Depending on the fabric type, this corresponds to a size of 7.9 inch x 9.5 inch or 20.1 cm x 24 cm (AIDA 20ct) to 13.2 inch x 15.8 inch or 33.4 cm x 40 cm (AIDA 12ct)
This motif of a kingfisher can be presented in portrait format but also very well in landscape format. The bright and colorful colors provide a good contrast to the quiet non-embroidered surface.
The magnificent kingfisher lives alone and eats small fish and tadpoles. The kingfisher's colorful plumage looks cobalt blue to turquoise, depending on the light, which makes it blend in with the color of the water and perfectly camouflaged.
