My wonderful German “Großmutter Luise” was a young woman in the 1920s. She often wore her loved handcrafted hat. As long as I can think, this family crochet pattern exists at home.
For the past 100 years now! In memory of my deceased granny
I called it affectionately „Luise´s GoOut Hat“ (German: Luises Ausgeh-Hut)

In addition she wore her „bepearled/-diamonded“ brooch:
a small flower in that gorgeous Art Déco Style, the Luisenflower.

Skills Required / What You'll Receive

I recommend this work for beginners with crochet experience /skill easy
You work spirally from top (crown) to bottom (brim) in simple Single Crochet Stitches, through both or through back loops only. And you finish your hat with an amazing edging of crab stitches / reverse single stitches.
12-pages written tutorial with a stitch guide and pics.
Work brooch in same wool quality as given below.
Terminology: EU/US-American Crochet Terms.

Size Information

You will find 5 sizes in a chart:
XXS, XS, S/M, L & XL * from 50cm (6 ¼) to 61cm (7 ⅝“) circumference.

Materials List

Work double-stranded with 2-3 skeins of worsted weight yarns (e.g. wool cap yarns) of 65-70% Polyacrylic/30-35% Wool; 50g/ca.55m yardage (1.8oz/ca.60yds.) & (no sponsoring) e.g. 1 skein of Drops Kid Silk, 75% Mohair, 25% Silk, 25g/ca.210m (0.9oz/ca.230yds.), 2ply/lace.
Wpi (wraps per inch) = 11
Hooks (EU 5 to 6,5 * US H/8 to K/10,5) are changing within the work and size.
