"But Snow White Fairer is Than You" - a fairy tale inspired knitting pattern for a beautiful lace shawl in triangle shape, using fingering weight yarn. One or two colors, that's up to you. There are two different lace patterns. One reminds of diamonds, while the second one looks more like lacy ribs. This is not a oattern for absolute beginners, but if you are familiar with easy lace stitches, it is a pattern that will bring you great pleasure.
The finished shawl will be a very light and airy, festive accessory for women, a shoulder wrap to wear at weddings for instance, or whatever occasions you may attend that make you want to dress up and look like a diva.
The sample shown in the pictures was made out of Knit Picks Bare Hare in wihite, which is a very soft merino wool and angora blend in fingering weight that feels heavenly when you knit it. The contrast stripe in red was a leftover of Lana Grossa Meilenweit Special, a soft sock yarn that is available in my part of the world, nothing very special, but a terrific match with the white - in my opinion. The pattern has been tested by several ladies who used a variety of yarns, among them gradients and self striping yarns, blacks and greens and whatever they thought would look good. The overall impression changes with the yarn, but all of them had a beautiful shawl at the end of the day.
If you purchase the pattern, start knitting and (which I don't hope) get to a point where you don't know how to go on, my contact info is in the pattern. I am always happy to help. Please bear in mind that I sometimes need to sleep and don't spend all day on the internet. But I check my mails every day.
