The only reason for the name that I can think of is the color, which inspired me to eat a lot of bananas while crocheting this shawl.
Bananas is an easy triangle shawl which is worked from the top to the bottom. Although I used fingering weight yarn for mine, any other yarn will work for the pattern as well.

Gauge: 27 stitches/17 rows in stitch pattern = 10cm (4in).
