The „Men's Loop 3 in 1“ is a cosy Loop shawl with various wearing possiblities.
There are two different versions of the collar – one slightly narrower with cable pattern, the other extra-warm with a turtleneck.
Also, you can wear the loop like a beanie to protect yourself from sudden rain or snow. Here again, there are two possibilities to wear it.
As the number of stitches is the same for both collars and the middle part, you can easily leave out one of the collars and start or end with the middle part.
The instruction is suitable for:
intermediates
Knowledge of the following stitches is needed:
how to cast on and tie off
knit stitch
purl stitch
The pattern consists mostly of basic knit and purl stitches, the biggest challenge is the cable pattern.
If you are an experienced beginner with knowledge how to knit cable patterns, this instruction should work well for you.
You will receive written instructions and a computer-designed knitting chart.
The completed loop measures ca. 52 cm (approx. 20,5 inches) at the widest point and has a height of 29 cm (approx. 11,4 inches), worked with knitting needles 4,0 mm
The height of the loop shawl can easily be adjusted by increasing or reducing the number of rows.
I used the following yarn:
2 x 50 g (= 2 x 1,75 ounces) Merino Extrafine Color 120 (100 % virgin wool) by Schachenmayr
Weight: 3 / Light / DK
yardage: 120 m / 50 g
= 240 m / 100 g
(approx. 131 yards / 1,75 ounces and 262 yards / 3,53 ounces)
Color: 00486
1 circular knitting needle 4 mm (or in your preferred size) and a cable needle
gauge:
15 stitches = 10 cm = 3,94 inches
Of course you can knit the shawl with any other type of yarn, just take in mind that the resulting measurements and the length of yarn needed probably will differ.
