The Men's Loop scarf „Chessboard“ is a warm and cosy Loop infinity shawl for cold autumn and winter days which experienced knitters can finish in a relatively short time.
Both the width and the height can easily be adjusted to your requirements by knitting more stitches and/or rows.
The pattern can easily be memorized so that you can knit it while, for instance, watching TV.
The instruction is suitable for:
experienced beginners
intermediates
Knowledge of the following stitches is needed:
how to cast on and bind off
knit stitch
The pattern consists only of basic knit and purl stitches and of course, casting on and binding off. Therefore, even beginners with some experience can dare to tackle this project.
You will receive written instructions and a computer-designed knitting chart.
The completed loop scarf has a circumference of ca. 126 cm (approx. 50 inches) and a height of 24 cm (approx. 9,4 inches), worked with circular knitting needles 4,0 mm, length 80 cm
The height of the loop shawl can easily be adjusted by increasing or reducing the number of rows.
I used the following yarn:
4x 50 g (= 4 x 1,75 ounces) Basic Merino (52 % virgin wool / 48 % Acrylic) by Katia
yardage: 120 m / 50 g
= 480 m / 200 g
(approx. 131 yards / 1,75 ounces and 525 yards / 7,05 ounces)
Color: 14
1 circular knitting needle 4,0 mm (or in your preferred size)
gauge:
22 stitches = 10 cm = 3,94 inches
Of course you can knit the shawl with any other type of yarn, just take in mind that the resulting measurements and the length of yarn needed probably will differ.
