– Alize aura 100 g/340 m (blue colour)
– Alize forever 50 g/280 m (silver color)
– 1,25mm crochet hook
– a pair of scissors, a sewing needle, a silver clutch purse frame (11,5cm х 4,5 cm) 4.52 "x 1.77", a plastic rectangle (11,5cm х 5,5 cm) 4.52 "x 2.16"
The size of the casket is approximately (12 cm x 9 cm х 6 cm) 4.72 "x 3.54" х 2.36 ".
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
sl st - slip stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
inc – increase
dec - decrease, two single crochets together
Bottom part (make two)
With blue colour yarn ch 54, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook
1. 53 hdc, ch 2, turn work
2 – 18. 53 hdc, ch 2, turn work
Make part 2 with silver colour yarn.
Put both parts together, connect them with sl sts and blue colour yarn as shown on the pictures.
Place a plastic rectangle between the parts.
Side Walls
1. Make sc into every loop around the perimeter.
2 – 6 . Change to silver colour yarn, make 5 rounds of hdc into every loop of the previous round.
7 – 11. Change to blue colour yarn, make 5 rounds of hdc into every loop of the previous round.
12. (1 inc hdc with silver colour, 7 hdc with blue colour) as many times as required to complete the round.
13.With blue colour (1 dec hdc, 7 hdc) as many times as required to complete the round. Make sure the decreases go right above the increases of the previous round.
14 –16. Make 3 rounds of hdc with blue colour
17. (1 inc hdc with silver colour, 7 hdc with blue colour) as many times as required to complete the round. Make sure the increases go right above the increases or round 12 as shown on the picture.
18. With blue colour (1 dec hdc, 7 hdc) as many times as required to complete the round. Make sure the decreases go right above the increases of the previous round.
19 – 21. Make 3 rounds of hdc with blue colour
22. (1 inc hdc with silver color, 7 hdc with blue colour) as many times as required to complete the round. Make sure the increases go BETWEEN the increases of round 17 as shown on the picture.
23. With blue colour (1 dec hdc, 7 hdc) as many times as required to complete the round. Make sure the decreases go right above the increases of the previous round.
23 – 27. Make 5 rounds of hdc with blue colur
Bind off. Leave a long enough yarn tail for further sewing.
Cover
Crochet in rows
Ch 46, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook 45 hdc, 2 ch, turn work
2 – 23. 45 hdc, ch 2, turn work
Depending on the size of your clutch purse frame and type of yarn, make sure the cover is the right size to fit the frame. You may need to adjust the number of chains you make.
Attach the cover to one part of the frame and sew it on as shown on the picture.
Sew 2nd part of the frame to the side walls as shown on the picture.
Sew the remaining loose part of the cover and the side wall together as shown on the picture.
Grip Handle
1. Ch 38, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook 37hdc, 2ch, turn work
2. 37 hdc
Bind off. Leave a long enough yarn tail for further sewing.
Sew the grip handle to the cover.
As an option you may want to decorate your casket with a tassel. Attach silver colour yarn to the frame and chain 18. Take a ruler and wrap the yarn around the ruler a few times. Cut it in half and make a tassel as shown on the picture.
Your casket is complete.
