This Potholders are always a great project if you want something finished quickly and get that feeling on having something achieved. Or if you need a last minute gift.
They are perfect beginner project as the potholder is only worked in knit stitches, purl stitches and slipping stitches and can easily be worked with following the row by row explanation.

The Washcloth are a very unique and personal idea for a gift for a Birthday, Christmas or just as a surprise.
I remember that i once gifted my Mum a potholder i made, at least 20 years ago as i must have been around 13 years old. I did gift her many many more ever since, but this one must be her absolute favorite as she uses it all the time.  She loves to send us photos of her cooking in our family group chat all the time and this one potholder is in almost every photo 😊 it must be a very good one and it makes me very proud and i think that’s what we all get from our crafted things me make.

This Cloths can also perfectly be used as patches for a big patchwork blanket, for this just leave out the hangers and work a few designs and sew them together.
You could also work a big Mum or Dad Blanked and work a few of them designs in a few nice and different Colors and sew them together.

I tried to write the pattern as beginner friendly as possible, if you have any questions or issues during knitting, I’m more than happy to help. Eiter via a comment here or via a private message.

Cast off not too tight, this works best with the 4 mm knitting needles but do not cut oft he thread just yet instead Work 25 Chain stitches with the 3 mm crochet hook and reattach the chain to the base with a slipped stitch. This creates the hanger for the potholder.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the Potholder is worked with the Graph:
The red indicates the edge stitches, the edge stitch at the beginning of the row is slipped knit wise, the edge stitch at the end of the row is a purl stitch.
The white parts are worked as follows: in the uneven Rows knit stitches, in the even rows purl stitches.
The black parts are worked as follows: in the uneven and even rows all knit.
The even rows are read from left to right and the uneven from right to left.

Cast off not too tight, this works best with the 4 mm knitting needles but do not cut oft he thread just yet instead Work 25 Chain stitches with the 3 mm crochet hook and reattach the chain to the base with a slipped stitch. This creates the hanger for the potholder.
