If you need a fun talkingpoint at teatime, you need the Hippo Tea Cosy Knitting Pattern to knit your own hippo tea cosy. I wanted my hippopotamus tea cosy to have a realistic look rather than looking like a child's toy that looks cute.
I wanted to give my Hippo a gaping mouth and have its teeth visible. I think hippos look incredible with their mouths open, they look so intimidating. I didn't go for the full on gape, and instead have made the lower jaw just falling away; relaxing.
I have stood the hippo on a nice grassy patch on the bank. The grass part of the cosy has a lovely stitch that gives the impression of long grass.
The hippo cosy is a lovely tea cosy to knit and it's quite quick to make.
The pattern is knitted on two pins and is easy to follow.
The tea cosy fits a medium sized teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints.
The pattern will be available for digital download as soon as you have completed purchase, so One could start knitting the hippo tea cosy very soon!

The pattern is written in English and uses only the basic of stitches.
The finished tea cosy fits a medium sized teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints.
