The We Three Kings of Orient Are Tea Cosy Knitting Pattern is a Christmas inspired tea cosy that depicts a wise man on a camel, from the story of the Nativity.
The main cosy forms the camel's body, and the camel's legs, head and neck are then made and sewn on. Camels come in various shades from cream through to light brown, which gives lots of scope when deciding on the colour of your camel.
The Wise Man is knitted separately and sewn on the top of the main cosy. In his hands he is carrying a jar of gold, frankincense or myrrh.
The camel is laying down, the kind of position they get into so that people can climb on or off them. I like to think that they have reached the stable in Bethlehem and that the King is getting down from the camel with his gift ready to give.
It's a lovely tea cosy that is unusual and shines a spotlight on the three Kings that followed the star.
It's a 7 page knitting pattern that is easy to follow and mainly worked in stocking stitch. There is a help video on YouTube, https://youtu.be/ZiDQHeEQ5sY
