The Pilo Cardigan is a basic cardigan which comes in a huge variety of sizes. PILO is short for Pippa and Lotta, which are the nicknames of my first and second daughter. It’s designed for boys and girls, knitted seamlessly top down in stockinette stitch, button plackets and buttonholes are worked as you go. You start at the neck, work increases along the raglan seams (optional you can highlight the raglan seam with some decorative knitted eyelets), put your sleeve stitches on hold and finish the body. Pick up again the sleeve stitches and finish your sleeves in the round. That’s it! It’s very simple, top down, beginner-friendly piece of knitting.
Finished chest measurements
41,5 / 44,5 / 48,5 / 53 / 57,5 / 62 / 67 / 70 / 74 cm
(16.25 / 17.5 / 19 / 20.75 / 22.75 / 24.5 / 26.25 / 27.5 / 29 inches)
Sizing is a guide only and you should pick the finished measurement size that is closest to the child’s measurements plus at least 5-10 cm (2-4 inches) of positive ease. Children grow quickly, so if in doubt, pick the next size up!
