The hat is worked in the round from the bottom to the top, using DPNs or circular needles as you prefer.
The stranded colorwork part is charted only. Please note that you need to know how to read charts if you want to knit the hat.
Difficulty level: Intermediate (knitting in the round on DPNs or circular needles, stranded colorwork, working from charts)
Gauge: 25 stitches/28 rows in stranded stockinette stitch (blocked) = 10cm/4in.
child, teen, adult medium, adult large, 44, 48, 52, 56cm (17 1/4, 19 1/4, 20 3/4, 22 1/2in) in circumference, 15.5, 19, 22, 22cm (6 1/4, 7 3/4, 8 3/4, 8 3/4in) in length.
Yarn: Steinbach Eroica (55% nylon, 45% wool; 114m/50g; 125yds/1.76oz), 1 ball of each color (fdepending on your tension you may need 2 balls of main color for the large size). Sample in size medium used 100m (109yds) of main color and 45m (50yds) of contrast color.
Needles: 4mm/US 6 set of 5 DPNs or circular needles
Notions: yarn needle, 1 stitch marker (optional when using circular needles)
