Placed under strict conservation, dubbed the "Immortals of the Alps", the little plant thrives in inadequate places in the mountains. It stands for courage, bravery and love and has conquered the fashion world over the years ...

The "Edelweiss from Cadoohartländle" … I bring you here as a goodie in your crochet rooms.

Wear it as an appliqué with beads to the chic traditional fashion, on hats, bags and coats, etc..
Or wear it as a brooch, so you can use the Edelweiss always and everywhere.

Skills Required / What You'll Receive

Crochet skills: Easy.
But you should know the basic crochet stitches.

For the perfect Edelweiss there is a crochet diagram and written instructions.

Size Information

With the wool specified in the crochet pattern, the Edelweiss is about 10x10cm (4x4”) in size.
However, you can certainly work it smaller and larger.

Materials List

Light and feathery, the Edelweiss looks most natural, so mohair yarns are preferable.

(unpaid ad) Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk, (23% Silk, 77% Alpaca), Weight: Aran, Col.: white 01, 25g (0.88oz.)/approx. 140m (153yds.) & the Icelandic wool Einband Lopi , Col: white 0851, 50g (1.7 oz), approx.225m (246yds), Weight: Lace/2 ply. Texture: Single ply, soft spun. Other yarns are possible!
Wpi = ~18

Other yarn types, e.g. cotton and/or other crochet hook sizes change the appearance and size of the flower. Likewise, the size of the leaves can be changed by away or increase individual stitches (described in Crochet Pattern/PDF). Just try it out!
