The Lacy Diamonds Hat is a lightweight hat for spring or fall, when snow has not arrived yet or is melting already but the temperatures still want you to wear something on your head.
The hat is knit in the round on DPNs (please feel free to use circulars if you prefer) from bottom to the top. It has a lacy diamond pattern (thus the name) with diamonds turning smaller as you reach the top and finally disappearing in the crown decreases.
The yarn used is a fingering sock yarn. Pattern instructions are for the use of DPNs but include options for the use of circular needles also. The pattern is written and charted.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate (working in the round on DPNs or circulars, increases, decreases, double increases and double decreases)
Gauge: 24 stitches/40 rows in stockinette stitch = 10cm/4in
Womens’ medium (brim circumference 42cm/17in unstretched, stretches to 56cm/22in). 21cm/8.5in from bottom to top.
