I have always been fascinated by the effects of using different yarns together. This shawl combines a fingering and a lace weight.
It is worked top down, starting with a garter tab and increasing in every second row. The more sturdy body of the shawl is knitted in fingering, using a simplified brioche stitch (the one that my mother taught me a long time ago), the airy border is knit-on sideways and done in lace weight. The body does not require any purls, it is almost garter stitch. For the border you will have to work short rows.
The instructions are written for one size, sizing options are in the pattern.
